why we are adopting again
From the very beginning, we always knew we wanted to start a family and that was a "deal breaker" for both of us when we were looking for our life partners. With all we had in common, it was a tremendous joy to discover that we also shared the desire to have children be a part of our life someday.
As family oriented people, we truly look love being parents. Being a gay couple, however, we have always recognized that our path to parenthood could not take the traditional route. As such, we had to navigate and educate ourselves about the different options available to us. Our conversations always came back to the possibility of becoming a family through adoption, and we realized with immense clarity that our hearts were incredibly excited about this path, which led us to our daughter, Kaia.
